Black Seed Oil at Walmart: What's on the Shelf and What to Check

Does Walmart sell black seed oil? Yes, and plenty of it. When we searched walmart.com for "black seed oil" on 1 October 2026, it returned 446 results, from Walmart's own Spring Valley bottle to Turkish, Ethiopian and American brands, liquid oils, softgels and multi-ingredient blends. The harder question is which of those listings is actually telling you what is in the bottle. This guide reads the Walmart shelf label by label: who makes each product, who sells it, what it declares about thymoquinone, pressing and seed origin, and what it leaves out. It is a dated snapshot of the website rather than any one store, and listings move week to week, so use it as a way of reading the shelf, not a permanent map of it.

The Short Answer

  • Walmart.com returned 446 results for "black seed oil" on 1 October 2026, across liquid oils, softgels, capsules and blends.
  • Walmart's own Spring Valley Organic Cold Pressed Black Seed Oil (6 fl oz) is sold by Walmart.com itself, is USDA Certified Organic and single-ingredient, and its listing gives no thymoquinone figure and no seed origin.
  • Many other listings, including Heritage Store and Zhou, were sold by third-party marketplace sellers rather than by Walmart, which is worth knowing before you buy.
  • Thymoquinone figures printed in listing titles ranged from 1.7% to 5%, but none of the listings we opened linked to a batch certificate of analysis.
  • A 2022 study in Nutrients found thymoquinone varying from 3.08 to 809.4 mg per 100 g across 11 commercial black seed products, so a figure you can check matters more than the shelf it sits on.
  • Sidr & Stone publishes 2.67% thymoquinone, independently verified per batch by Analytice, an ISO-accredited French laboratory, with fulfilment in the UK, EU, and US.

Does Walmart Sell Black Seed Oil?

Yes. On 1 October 2026, walmart.com returned 446 results for "black seed oil", including Walmart's own Spring Valley organic cold-pressed oil in a 6 fl oz bottle, sold by Walmart.com and offered for store pickup as well as delivery. Most other listings are third-party brands, many sold by marketplace sellers, in liquid, softgel and capsule form.

Not every one of those 446 results is black seed oil on its own. The first page alone carried oil-of-oregano softgels with black seed oil added, sea moss and soursop drops with black seed in the mix, and a black seed oil with vitamins D3 and K2. Walmart's search groups them together because they share an ingredient. If you want plain cold-pressed Nigella sativa oil, the ingredient line is the first thing to read. For every other store we checked the same day, see our store-by-store guide to where to buy black seed oil in the US.

What Each Walmart Label Declares

We opened the most prominent liquid oils and one capsule line on walmart.com on 1 October 2026 and recorded what each listing itself states. Blank cells mean the listing did not say, not that the product lacks it.

Product (as listed) Sold by Thymoquinone figure Pressing Seed origin stated Organic status
Spring Valley Organic Cold Pressed Black Seed Oil, 6 fl oz Walmart.com None stated Cold-pressed Not stated USDA Certified Organic
Heritage Store Black Seed Oil, 8 fl oz Marketplace seller None stated Cold-pressed, unrefined Not stated Organic (single ingredient)
Zhou Organic Black Seed Oil, 8 oz Marketplace seller None stated Cold-pressed Not stated Organic
Amazing Herbs Black Seed Oil, 1 oz Marketplace seller None stated Cold-pressed Turkey "Organically grown"
ORZAX Black Seed Oil Capsules, 90 softgels ORZAX Inc. "2% Thymoquinone" Cold-pressed Turkey Not stated

Two things stand out. Only one of the five, Spring Valley, was sold by Walmart itself. And only one printed a thymoquinone figure at all.

Spring Valley: Walmart's Own Black Seed Oil

Spring Valley is Walmart's own supplement label, and its Organic Cold Pressed Black Seed Oil is the listing Walmart badged as its "Overall pick" for the search. On its walmart.com page it is a 6 fl oz (177 mL) liquid, 35 servings of one teaspoon, with a single ingredient: black cumin seed (Nigella sativa) oil. It is sold and shipped by Walmart.com, and was offered for store pickup. Own-label supplements at big US chains tend to follow this pattern, as we found with Walgreens' own black seed oil.

Credit where it is due. Spring Valley carries USDA Certified Organic status, a genuine formal certification, and it is one ingredient with nothing blended in. Those are real strengths, and at Walmart's scale they make it an easy bottle to find.

What the listing does not give you is a thymoquinone figure, a seed origin or a laboratory. It says the oil "contains Thymoquinone (TQ)" without saying how much. The listing also makes several health-outcome claims for the oil, which we do not repeat; we would gently encourage caution with any black seed oil sold on specific health claims rather than measured content.

Branded Oils and the Marketplace Question

Many of the best-known names on the Walmart results page are not sold by Walmart. When we checked, Heritage Store's 8 fl oz oil and Zhou's 8 oz oil were both sold by a third-party marketplace seller, and Amazing Herbs' 1 oz bottle by another. That is normal for walmart.com, which runs a marketplace much like Amazon's (our guide to buying black seed oil on Amazon covers the same issue there), but it changes what you are buying: the bottle comes from that seller's stock, not Walmart's.

The labels themselves are mostly straightforward. Heritage Store lists one ingredient, organic black cumin seed oil, cold-pressed and unrefined. Amazing Herbs states its seeds are organically grown in Turkey and cold-pressed. Zhou describes its oil as organic, cold-pressed and 100% pure. None of the three gave a thymoquinone figure on its Walmart listing.

The practical point: before you add a branded oil to your basket, check the "Sold and shipped by" line. If it is a marketplace seller, look at the seller's rating and the date you would receive it, because an oil's freshness depends on how it has been stored, and you cannot see that from a listing.

Reading Thymoquinone Claims on Walmart Listings

Where Walmart listings did print a thymoquinone figure, it was usually in the product title. On 1 October 2026 we saw "2% Thymoquinone" (ORZAX capsules), "High Thymoquinone 1.7%" (Prime Natural), "High-Potency 4.6% Thymoquinone" (TITNPOWER softgels), "5% Thymoquinone" (BFQN drops, a five-ingredient blend) and "3X TQ" (MAJU's).

A printed figure is more than most labels offer, and brands that commit to a number deserve some credit for it. ORZAX's listing also says the product is third-party tested. But none of the listings we opened linked to a certificate of analysis naming the laboratory, the batch and the test date. Without that, a title figure is the brand's own statement, and "3X TQ" is not a measurement at all, because it does not say three times what.

This matters because the spread in real products is wide. Khaikin and colleagues, writing in Nutrients in 2022, tested six black seed oils and five capsule products bought commercially and found thymoquinone ranging from 3.08 to 809.4 mg per 100 g. Bottles that look alike on a shelf can be very different inside.

What to Check Before You Buy Black Seed Oil at Walmart

Whichever listing you are looking at, five checks will tell you most of what you need:

  1. Ingredients: one line, Nigella sativa seed oil, if you want the oil rather than a blend.
  2. Sold by: Walmart.com or a named marketplace seller, and that seller's rating.
  3. Thymoquinone: a specific figure, not "high" or "3X".
  4. Proof: a certificate of analysis from a named laboratory, tied to a recent batch.
  5. Bottle: dark glass rather than clear glass or plastic, since thymoquinone is light-sensitive.

A fair objection: "Walmart's own organic oil is cheap and certified, so why look further?" For many people it will be a perfectly reasonable bottle. The point is narrower. Organic certification tells you how the seed was grown; it does not tell you how much thymoquinone reached the bottle. Another fair objection is that capsules are simply easier. They are, but a capsule's strength is usually given in milligrams of oil, not thymoquinone, so the same question applies.

On price, Walmart's range on 1 October 2026 ran from $8.81 for a 1 oz bottle of Amazing Herbs to $49.88 for 16 oz of Mother Nature Organics, with Spring Valley's 6 fl oz at $14.88. Prices change daily, and size and strength matter more than the sticker. Frequently Asked Questions

Does Walmart sell black seed oil?

Yes. On 1 October 2026 walmart.com returned 446 results for "black seed oil", including Walmart's own Spring Valley Organic Cold Pressed Black Seed Oil (6 fl oz), which was offered for store pickup as well as delivery.

Is Spring Valley black seed oil organic?

Yes. Walmart's listing describes Spring Valley's oil as USDA Certified Organic and cold-pressed, with a single ingredient, black cumin seed (Nigella sativa) oil. The listing does not state a thymoquinone figure or where the seed was grown.

How do I tell which Walmart black seed oil is the real thing?

Read the ingredient line for a single ingredient, check who it is sold by, and look for a specific thymoquinone figure backed by a named laboratory's certificate of analysis for a recent batch.

Is black cumin seed oil at Walmart the same as black seed oil?

Yes. Black cumin seed oil, nigella sativa oil and black seed oil are names for the same oil, pressed from Nigella sativa seeds. Walmart's search returns all three names together.

How does Sidr & Stone compare with what Walmart sells?

Sidr & Stone publishes 2.67% thymoquinone, independently verified per batch by Analytice, for a single-ingredient, cold-pressed, unrefined oil in matte black glass. None of the Walmart listings we opened linked to a batch certificate.

Are black seed oil softgels at Walmart as good as the liquid?

They suit people who dislike the taste, but a softgel's strength is usually stated in milligrams of oil, not thymoquinone, and some are blends. The same verification question applies to both forms.

Can I buy Sidr & Stone black seed oil at Walmart?

No. Sidr & Stone sells direct from its own website, with fulfilment in the UK, EU, and US, so each bottle comes from our own stock with its batch verification.

Is black seed oil a medicine?

No. Black seed oil is a food supplement, not a medicine. It has a long traditional history and an interesting body of research around thymoquinone, and can be a worthwhile part of a healthy routine — but it does not cure diseases and is not a substitute for medical care. Be cautious of any black seed oil marketed with specific disease-cure claims.

Final Thoughts

Walmart is an easy place to find black seed oil, and its own Spring Valley bottle is genuinely organic-certified and single-ingredient. What the Walmart shelf does not do, for any of the listings we read, is show you a measured thymoquinone figure with the certificate behind it.

So read the listing before the price: one ingredient, a clear seller, a specific figure and a named laboratory. If you are comparing other US stores too, our US where-to-buy guide covers the rest.

Our cold-pressed Ethiopian black seed oil — independently verified at 2.67% thymoquinone — is available now, with fulfilment in the UK, EU, and US.

Our black seed oil is pressed from organically grown Ethiopian highland Nigella sativa, but it is not certified organic: formal organic certification is hard to obtain in the Ethiopian highlands, so we tell you how the seed is grown rather than claim a certificate we do not hold.
